about this site

When designing this site, I began with an open source responsive grid kit. I wanted to start with a platform that other writing instructors could easily adapt without programming or complex HTML revisions. The Creative Commons license also encourages educational reuse.

Starting with the distributed skeleton, I added a single stylesheet (wyatt.css), loading it last on each page to override design settings I disliked. The original design featured shades of blue and gray, which I replaced with greens and tans. The color choices were based on the opinions of people with special needs, interviewed for my dissertation project.

Minimaxing 3.0 by HTML5 UP. Lead designer @n33co at html5up.net. Free for personal and commercial use under the CCA 3.0 license. The very first responsive site template AJ (@n33co) ever made on 5grid (now upgraded to 5grid.js). It’s clean, minimal, and so generic you can use it for pretty much anything. Feedback, bug reports, and comments are not only welcome, but strongly encouraged.
